Congratulations Pádraig and Josephine.
This was a return visit for the band to The Thames Rowing Club. It’s a great location, and it had been a lovely day. The fiddler on duty was the splendid Mr Chris Haigh ( successful author / fiddler – currently writing an in-depth book on the use of fiddle in Klezma music). The fiddle / guitar duo entertained the guests as they arrived from the church and whilst they ate their food… and it sounded stunning!
The first dance (after a snippet of Ray Charles), was Face The Music And Dance, played by the band… great song and hopefully we’ll keep it in the set. They were a great crowd – at’s always a pleasure to be able to throw in the Irish tracks (and have people singing the words back at you!)
Jo was a pleasure to deal with on the run up to the wedding, and she has a wonderful laid back manner – they looked an incredibly happy couple dancing away – it’s always a privilege to play peoples weddings, and a joy to witness the happy couple on one of the most important days of their lives. Before we knew it, it was midnight, and curfew time – though we could have easily carried on, and would have happily done so!
Thanks for looking after us – thanks for the Australian flowers! Best of luck in the future!
