Congratulations Maggie and Richard.
These guys had seen us at Victoria and Dom’s wedding at the Hotel Du Vin in Tunbridge Wells in the summer – so knew what to expect. The previous couple were also present, Victoria dancing the night away… which is great to see.
The food was fantastic – as could be expected from a Conran restaurant, and the venue was very cool, whilst being intimate at the same time. We discovered that there were loads of irish Dancing professionals (Richard’s work involves various Irish dance shows that travel the world), so there were occasional outbreaks of high quality dancing… to the appropriate tunes. We played our usual variety of songs – basically something for everyone, and as usual, the whole room was up by the end, spinning and dancing around the happy couple. At one point Maggie took to the mic and organised a Ceilidh… though it wasn’t a style we were used to – Jason usually handles the calling when we are booked for Ceilidh sections of music, which is more Scottish than Irish – but we managed to play through… we probably didn’t do justice to the dancers – there was some incredible talent out there!
It was a great wedding to play – friendly folk… and a great start to 2014!
Thanks for having us, best of luck in the future!
