This was the second, and final fund raiser for the Thursley Village playground. It had a Valentines theme, and as usual, the organisers pulled out all the stops, and decorated the hall beautifully… and prepped the dressing room perfectly (M&Ms with all the blue ones included, bowls of nibbles, tasty lasagne plus puddings….) The band was the 5 piece (drums bass, guitar, fiddle and female vocals), with Chris Haigh on fiddle. The cocktail duo (Chris and Rob) played whilst the guests arrived…. top gypsy-jazz tunes, perfect for the occasion.
After the meal, the band took to the stage, and the guests followed on the dance floor…. and it stayed that way throughout the whole evening. They were a superb crowd, with an amazing party atmosphere.
It was a perfect event to play, and great that it was raising money for the children’s playground (Alistair’s local, so great for his kids). Big thanks for to the organisers for being so accommodating, and thanks to the band for doing such a good job (and for charity!).
