This was the launch party for the latest Bloomsbury release, Cobra In The Bath, by best selling author Miles Morland (currently at number 4 in the travel books for Waterstones). This was going to be a great party whatever happened… with the best caterers in the business ( The Cellar Society ) providing street food and cocktails throughout. It was glamorous and fun – with various cellebs dotted throughout in the crowd…
The night started with cocktails and African street musicians – the whole night had an international feel to reflect the travels of Miles Morland. Around 10pm, there were various welcome speeches, then readings from the book. One such reader was news man Jon Snow – which was quite surreal to witness (needless to say, he did a great job). We then took to the stage and entertained the guests. They were a truly fun crowd, and after a short break we pushed on past 1am. The final song, which happened to be quite apt, was 500 Miles, to which Miles bounced up and down. We were persuaded to play a couple more songs (Don’t Stop Me Now and Too Good To Be True), and then DJ’d through to 2am.
It was a joy and honour to play this event – Cobra In The Bath is a top book, about the simple joy of living, exploring, and pushing on regardless… and I’d recommend it to anyone out there who fancies a good light hearted read ( find on Amazon here )! To quote Miles, in an email after the event… “Last night was one of the best nights of my life and you did so much to make it a success. Thankyou and bravo. You and the band are awesome.”
A huge thanks to Miles who made us so welcome – we look forward to playing the launch of that difficult third book when it finally comes 😉

Cripes! I don’t know which is worse: having a Cobra in the bath, or being at the book launch! Either could easily kill you, but I’ll go for the party – just a week’s hangover, but you’re definitely still alive – sort of …
And now there’s a third book in the works! Congratulations, Miles, you make us laugh and look at the world in jest – thank you! Stephen.
