Plan the
night.

The first conversation about your event should feel exciting — not like filling in a form. Here's how it tends to unfold.

Tell us about your event

No need for the full picture yet.

A rough date, a venue, a feeling for the room — that's plenty to begin. We've shaped evenings around intimate weddings, big landmark birthdays, corporate parties, ceilidhs and full Irish-flavoured floor-fillers. Whatever you're imagining, we'd love to hear it early.

Weddings

First dances, ceremony, reception, last dance — the whole arc.

Landmark birthdays

30s, 40s, 50s — the kind of night people still talk about.

Corporate

Awards nights, summer parties, Christmas events.

Ceilidh & Irish

Sociable, riotous, brilliant for mixed crowds.

03

Shape the night

Let's make an event.

We build the set around your crowd. First dances learnt for the day, DJ playlists threaded between live sets, energy that rises with the room. Whether you want soft, intimate openers or a dancefloor that doesn't stop until the lights come up — we'll shape it together.

Tailored setlists

From a Spotify playlist of inspiration to bespoke arrangements for the day.

First dances, learnt

Your song, our arrangement — performed live and in the moment.

Energy that builds

Quieter early, rolling through favourites, peaking exactly when you want it to.

"They read the room like they'd known us for years."

We'll handle the rest

Calm hands behind the scenes.

Put in as much or as little as you want. Some clients book and leave it to us; others enjoy working closely to fine-tune every detail. Either way is great. We're happy to chat anytime and pass on advice on any element of your day — we've had a few years' experience, so it's always worth running ideas past us.

Personal contact

You'll always know who you're speaking to — usually Alistair, the band leader.

Flexible planning

Book and relax, or fine-tune every detail — your call, we adapt to your pace.

A friendly sounding board

Stuck on a first dance, a running order, or a supplier? Ask us — we've seen most things.

Quiet professionalism

Setup, sound, pack-down — handled, with no drama.

05

The practical bits

The practical bits,
gently put.

A few standard terms we share early — so there are no surprises later. Anything unusual about your evening, just ask. We're flexible where we can be.

Times
Quotes are based on a 6pm arrival and midnight finish, including pack-down. Earlier arrivals or later finishes are charged at +£25 per band member, per hour.
Accommodation
Required for venues over approximately two hours from GU10 (Surrey). We'll always flag this early so it can be planned in.
Meals
We ask for a hot meal for each band member. A small note: our guitarist can't eat fish or nuts.
Deposit & balance
A 50% non-returnable deposit confirms the booking. The balance is payable by BACS one week before the event, or in cash on the night.

Frequently asked

Any
questions?

We've played hundreds of weddings, parties, ceilidhs and corporate events over the years. Here are some of the questions we're asked most often.

How much does a wedding band cost?

As a guide, expect to invest around £2,500–£4,000 for an experienced professional wedding band with full PA, lighting, planning support and reliable musicians. Pricing varies depending on location, band size, timings and any additional services. It's always worth asking, even if you're just exploring ideas.

When should I book a wedding band?

Many of our bookings arrive 12–18 months before the event. Popular summer Saturdays can disappear quickly. That said, we also receive bookings only a few weeks before an event. If a date matters to you, it's worth checking availability as early as possible.

What happens if a band member is ill?

This is extremely rare. Rollercoaster works with a trusted network of professional musicians who have performed with us for years. If a genuine emergency occurs, we have experienced deputies who know the material and can step in seamlessly. Reliability and contingency planning are part of what you're paying for.

How long does a live band play for?

Our standard format is two 60-minute live sets. We believe this creates the best flow for an evening, giving guests time to socialise, eat, dance and build energy naturally throughout the night. Three 40-minute sets are possible if required, but two longer sets generally create a stronger event experience.

Do wedding bands provide DJ music?

Yes. We provide professional DJ-style music before, between and after the live sets. We use the same software—and often the same hardware—as many dedicated DJs. Most clients provide playlists, but we're also happy to adapt to the atmosphere of the room and what's working on the dancefloor.

What size stage does a wedding band need?

Ideally around 6m x 4m, although we can often work comfortably in smaller spaces. A raised stage and backdrop can make a huge difference to the visual impact of the evening and often help improve the sound in larger or more reflective rooms.

How much power does the band require?

Usually just two standard 13-amp sockets. Our equipment is efficient and doesn't place heavy demands on venue power supplies. If you're working with a marquee company, production company or venue coordinator, we're happy to provide technical specifications in advance.

Do you carry Public Liability Insurance and PAT certificates?

Yes. We carry Public Liability Insurance and maintain PAT-tested equipment. Documentation can be provided whenever venues request it.

Still have a question?

Every event is different.

If you're wondering about timings, costs, logistics, music choices, venue requirements or anything else, just ask.

Call, email or start planning

Call,
or email.

Two ways to start a conversation. Pick up the phone, drop an email — or build the whole thing through our online planning portal. Either way, we build the event up with you from that very first conversation. Nothing automated, nothing impersonal.

Call

Phone, email, a proper chat.

You'll always speak to Alistair — bassist, singer and band leader. No call centres, no booking agents in the middle. We'll talk through your evening together and build the booking up from there.
